TOUCHE', TOUCHE' If you don't know the meaning of "off or from" you
don't have the right to be a mason let alone unsupervised access to this
news group.

AGREED! (and unfortunate for Bro.Brown)
Wor. Bro. Brown...your question truly surprised me.
Any and all of US would and should understand what that means and where it comes from by the time YOU became a master (3rd, Blue Lodge).
It is used often outside the lodge for identifying others in our craft.
"in darkness as well as light".
Along with the meaning to a lot of other personal and public sights that only YOU and other brothers in our craft can identify with.
There is only one right answer to that question and YOU need to know that answer before going any further in the conversation with an unknown...OUR craft depends it.
YOU need to know that answer.
Please, for all of US, study and practice what you've been taught.
All brothers will help you and answer any questions you might need help with, concerning the craft and our rituals.
It's so very important to keep our knowledge alive and moving forward, it is the way we all carry ourselves during this short tenure of life that we are given here.
Good luck growing and moving forward, it's a fabulous journey!

Different coutries, different traditions; I am not from the US and am
not aware of the phrase. Should it be "of or from" anyway? Not many
people would admit to being "off" given the slang meaning in some
places.
